“Top Chef” finalist Danny Khezzar will cook to the sounds of pianist Mourad or saxophonist Sax Appeal during two gourmet afternoons in the great outdoors in July in Geneva
A vineyard? The garden of a private villa on the edge of the lake? The courtyard of a castle? A forest? Or at the top of the Salève? Mystery… The exact location of the haute couture picnics organized by Btween Us will remain secret until the last moment. This is what makes, among other things, the charm of this Geneva event agency that imagines year-round bucolic scenarios of meals on the grass for companies and individuals, from two people.
In July, she will exceptionally set a table for an "epicurean elite limited to 26 people", upon registration and for a tidy sum. "The hallmark of these haute couture picnics is to provide an atypical experience outside the walls. With an unusual spot, a renowned chef on site, great wines and a magnificent decoration, worthy of chic country weddings, in tune with le Temps", explains Noëlle Mendy, founder of Btween Us.
Piano and saxophone
On July 2, Top Chef finalist Danny Khezzar will be in charge of the kitchen. Raised in the suburbs of Paris and a graduate of the Jean Drouant Hotel School, he has been working with Michel Roth for ten years. After the Ritz Paris, he joined the Bayview restaurant at the Hôtel Président Wilson in Geneva (one Michelin star and 18/20 in Gault & Millau), where he has been head chef since May, at just 26 years old. With his original laugh, infectious good humor, and two-tone dreadlocks, he stands out in the Franco-Swiss gastronomic landscape.
On this occasion, he will be accompanied in music by the young piano prodigy from Marseille Mourad and on July 23 by the saxophonist Sax Appeal . "I have no doubt that he will succeed in sublimating local products while remaining faithful to his creativity. Each meeting will be an opportunity for him to tell a new story around the picnic in different places. Other dates with other chefs will be proposed soon", rejoices Noëlle Mendy.
